The University of Cambridge published a study in October 2022 called, “A World Divided: Russia, China and the West.” It surveyed 137 countries representing 97% of the world’s population to uncover the favourability of Russia and China to these countries. It found that 70% of the world, excluding the Western countries, had a favourable view of China. Only 23% of Western countries thought well of China.
This highlights the fact that Western countries have been indoctrinated to hate China. They hate China because:
The West fears losing its global dominance and the privileges that go with it.
The West is jealous and resentful of China’s success. It is fundamentally racist.
The West cannot face the truth about itself — that it’s corrupt and decaying, that it has an awful history of brutal colonialism, that it continues to oppress other nations, that it treats its people poorly, that it’s violent and militant, that it lacks honor and integrity — and it must distract its people by scapegoating China and making China a bogeyman.
From this chart, it’s clear that the Global South have a positive view of China, while the Global North doesn’t.
Pew Research published a similar survey in July 27, 2023 for 24 countries. Two-thirds of those countries were in the Global North. The survey was highly skewed and the result was obviously biased against China. The title says it all: China’s Approach to Foreign Policy Gets Largely Negative Reviews in 24-Country Survey. I can’t believe how dishonest Pew Research is.
